Sofia Pernas is a Moroccan actress born and was raised in Orange County. At the age of 5 she left Morocco for California. In 2015, she graduated from University of California San Diego and made her debut acting. Pernas made minor appearances on NCIS and Leverage however she was able to land the part in the role of Marisa on The Young and the Restless. Following her departure from the soap, the actress landed the role of Catalina in Jane the Virgin. The model speaks four different languages. Us Weekly reported in May 2020 that Pernas was dating Justin Hartley from The Young and the Restless. This relationship began in the month of May, 2020 following Pernas' split up with her wife Chrishell Stause.
