LeBron Raymone James Sr., born the 30th of December, 1984 is an American professional basketball player, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). The nickname is King James he is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players ever and is often compared to Michael Jordan in debates over the greatest basketball player in history. James has been awarded four NBA championships as well as four NBA MVPs, three All-Star MVPs and two Olympic medals. James holds the record for the highest score of points in the post-season, second best all-time score, and the 7th most career assists. This is a record for the NBA that he has been an NBA All-Star for 18 years. The third highest number in NBA Finals ever was ten and eight of them were consecutive between 2011-2018. In 2021 James was selected to make the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022 he became the first athlete of NBA history to rack up at least 10,000 career points as well as assists and rebounds. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he was raised. National media touted James as a future NBA superstar. As a prep to pro his dream, it was the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the first pick overall in the NBA draft in 2003. He was named one of the NBA rookie of the year in 2004. Soon he became one of the premier athletes of the NBA as he won both the NBA MVP Award in as of 2009 and in 2010. James, who did not win the championship at Cleveland in 2010 was released as a free agent and joined the Miami Heat. This was disclosed by the book The Decision. It is one of the most controversial decisions made by a free agent in sports history.
