Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop artists: one capable of successfully cross the divide between country and pop while sweeping the globe. Swift is shedding her roots in the country as if it were a second-skin revealing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter within her generation. Swift is able to take the zeitgeist of today and create her unique. These skills were evident on her early hits including the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album, 2008's Fearless showed a writer discovering her true identity and in the process finding an audience of mass. Fearless was a huge success worldwide, not only in North America (where it earned six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story and "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. and other countries. Swift was able to consolidate her success with Speak Now almost two year after. In the following three years, her popularity increased with the release of three albums -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) during which time she entered a new realm of pop in which her talent was already well established. She was on top of the charts until she reverted to her own style on her sister albums, folklore and Evermore in 2020.
