Chaka Khan.....................Chaka Khan is one of the most popular and richest R&B Singer who was born on March 23 1953 in Chicago Illinois United States. R&B Vocalist, whose Version of Prince's I Feel for You has been an enormous hit. I Feel for You from Rufus, that she is also a part of, is highly regarded. Khan is also the frontwoman of Rufus. Khan was born a Catholic. She was educated at Hyde Park Saint Thomas the Apostle Church's elementary school. She said that her grandmother who was the first to introduce her jazz music as a small kid, was the reason for her passion for music. Khan began to love blues and rhythm as young teenagers. The first time she formed a girl group, called the Crystalettes when she was eleven years old, along and Taka. The late 1960s saw the formation of the Crystalettes. Khan was a frequent attendee at civil rights rallies with her father's second wife Connie a strong supporter of the movement and became a member of the Black Panther Party after befriending a fellow member activist and Chicago native Fred Hampton in 1967. Many believe she got the name Chaka in the Panthers but Khan claims it was a Yoruba Baba who gave her the name when she was thirteen when she joined the party for the first time. In 1969, she left the Panthers after having attended Calumet High School. She played in Chicago together with Cash McCall and his group Lyfe that also featured Hassan Khan. Chaka and Hassan got married in 1971.
