Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th the 28th of October, 1967. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer, was the first Roberts to settle in Atlanta. The Robertses' father was interested in the theatre at a young time. While he was a students at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he was a part of several performances. In 1953, when he joined the Air Force and was spotted together with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. The two married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter along with his wife were discharged from the Air Force in 1957 and enrolled Walter as a student at Tulane University. Walter joined Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio after the family relocated from Atlanta to Decatur in Georgia in the year 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning show on local television that was aimed at children, named Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture that they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was established in 1964 and lasted for six years. They had Lelisa Billingsley (also called Lisa) and Julia (also called Julie) during this period.
